Staley and Cuddihy Claim Solo Wins at The 308

308_224Rich Staley of Reno, NV has won the 2014 edition of the Trona 308.  Staley covered the 308 miles and 20,000′ of climbing from Santa Clarita, CA to Trona, CA and back in 18hr 56min to claim the Men’s Solo Title.  Brandon Tinianov from Santa Clara, CA arrived at the finish in second position at 22hr 45min.

In the self-supported Solo Randonneur division, it was 2012 Furnace Creek 508 winner Sean Cuddihy  of Long Beach, CA crossing the line in 19hr 7min, just 11 minutes after Staley.  Cuddihy was followed in by Mark Fillebrown of Spring Valley, CA at 21hr 25min.

    Besides being an obvious top tier rider, it’s important to note that Rich Staley, owner of Great Basin Bicycles in Reno, Nevada, is always willing to give of himself in the bicycle world. Be it sitting on boards,advice, bicycle fits, actual on the road training sessions, folks of all ages and skill levels have improved and deepened their fittness, skill’s and involvement in our sport, largely due to Rich’s oversight, patience and tutelage.
