UltraRaceNews Adds Discussion Forum

Those involved in the sport Ultracycling have a history of offering both teammates as well as competitors a hand up.  This occurs not only in training or casual rides, but we even during the heat of battle.  We are known for stopping to help a fellow competitor in need even when the race is on the line.  We thrive to learn how we might further prosper and we thrive to help others do the same.

So it is within that spirit that UltraRaceNews launches a new discussion forum in which all the subtle nuances that separate us from the pack can be shared and discussed.  Categories such as support crew staffing, training for ultras, ultra cycling race tactics, ultra cycling equipment among others among others will serve to frame our dialog, but other topics regarding our sport are also more than acceptable.

The forum guidelines are pretty simple; maintain a positive influence,  avoid personal attacks, respect the views of others and avoid injecting discussions of a political nature.  The forum admin decides whether you stay or go, so please be kind.

This is a community in which like minded Ultracyclists, both experienced and new can get involved in expanding the horizon of the sport of ultracycling.

Register today at http://www.ultraracenews.com/forum/, we would love to have you!

Hi John, I’d like to start a topic if that’s how this forum works on cold/wet weather riding for ultra cyclists in January. There’s lots of stuff on the Internet for bike commuters and bike racers who are not on the bike more than a few hours at most. And I certainly have some tips and tricks up my sleeve on coping with unexpectedly cold or wet weather. But I’d like to hear from ultra riders in cold climates. I am crewing for a solo RAAM rider from Ohio and I know it is very hard on her trying to figure out how to do 200 mile days when it gets so chilly at night. So on her behalf… (thanks in advance), Janet
