Race Across Italy – New RAAM Qualifier

Race Across ItalyItaly has a new Race Across America (RAAM) qualifier!

The Race Across Italy will be held May 4, 2013 in Nettuno, Italy and will be open to solo racers as well as two, four and eight rider teams.

The route will have racers traversing the Italian continent twice between the cities of Nettuno on the west coast and Pescara on the east coast for a total of 600KM.

The event is organized by Tony Lonero and his Ride to Finish team and is supported by the City of Nettuno, Nettuno Bike, The American War Cemetery and Port of Nettuno.  In addition, the event will serve as a fundraiser for cancer research.

  1. Great, part of my family came from the Pescara region of Italy. Would be fun to go see them as well as ride!

  2. This is more of a comeback than a first. Italy has had RAAM-Qs in the past, among them the Montello 24 Hour as You may read in UltraRaceNews not that long ago: http://www.ultraracenews.com/2011/05/01/2011-24-hr-of-montello-italy-european-ultracycling-season-opens/
